Club Vim

Producer: Chelsea Boan-Lewis

Club Vim (2018) was my first foray into event production and a formative chapter in my journey within the industry. These four electrifying shows across Kelowna and Kamloops showcased Canadian DJ talent and laid the groundwork for what would become a career rooted in community connection and vibrant experiences. Club Vim provided a platform for my passion as a connector and a creator, establishing relationships that continue to shape my approach to event production today. Special thanks to Chantelle Bell Designs, whose eye for fun and dynamic graphics brought each event’s theme to life..

Euphoria
Featuring DJ duo Average Gypsy (now Average Citizens) and Lando Rye, Euphoria brought a futuristic and post-apocalyptic vibe. We encouraged attendees to fully immerse themselves in the theme through creative costumes, resulting in a highly visual, exciting atmosphere.

Vivid Lush
This event starred Case of the Mondays and Dropline, inviting attendees to dress in tropical or garden party-inspired costumes—think fruit patterns, lush greens, and vibrant, colorful outfits. The playful theme set the stage for a lively and unique party experience.

Wonderland
Hosted in both Kelowna and Kamloops, Wonderland featured performances by RUMPUS and Dr. Brae. This fantasy-themed party encouraged people to dress as their favorite characters, sparking imagination and creativity.

Virtual Fundraiser: Harbour Harmony
In 2020, at the onset of the pandemic, Canada witnessed a tragic mass shooting in Nova Scotia. In response, Club Vim organized Harbour Harmony, a live-streamed event to raise funds for the Red Cross Halifax. Musicians from across Canada, including Pineo & Loeb (Nova Scotia), Sparky (Nova Scotia), Rachel Geek (Calgary), Mantesah & Cosmic Co-Motion (Kelowna), and RUMPUS (Victoria), came together to perform, raising $1,000 for the cause. This event reflected Club Vim’s commitment to supporting communities in times of need, using music as a means of connection and healing.

Club Vim laid the foundation for my career in event production, channeling my early ambition, creativity, and energy. It taught me how to create memorable, themed experiences that bring people together. These early ventures instilled in me the lasting values of creativity, community, and connection.
